What We Do
At the Drop In, we believe that play is a child’s work, and we encourage playful discovery and learning. Our broad range of age appropriate activities will easily engage toddlers and preschoolers, and our activities will be based on monthly units of study (i.e. Our Families). We constantly explore social skills themes through natural interactions and provide a safe place for students to learn and grow.
What You Will See
Play! Our day consists of free play and activity time (activities such as children's literature, dramatic play, puppet shows, listening center, arts & crafts, science discovery & nature, cooking, sensory activities, social skills development, music & singing, fine & large motor skills), circle time, snack time, and outdoor/indoor gross motor play.
Curriculum Map
What is a curriculum map, you say? A curriculum map ensures all modalities of learning are covered during a unit. Of course, curriculum maps only include planned activiites, and may leave out spontaneous lessons that emerge as children explore, investigate, discover, and play. Our role is to plan, but also allow for room to expand. on emerging lessons. Nothing makes a class more exciting than one that takes the children's interests to heart.
